Our History

The company was formed in December 1996 by Phil Whitehurst, who as a Chartered Electronics Engineer recognised there was a need for innovative and reliable marine electronic equipment. As a keen sailor himself, Phil realised the potential within the leisure marine market was not being met by the existing marine companies, and so set about designing and manufacturing an entire range of products, which are unique in their quality and sophistication in the marine marketplace.

Utilising over 20 years of specialist experience in the design of DSP software and hardware, in the field of smart sensors and underwater acoustics, Actisense is now a market leader in manufacturing intelligent marine electronic products.

Our team have also proven that our robust technology brings efficiency to the agricultural sector, and Actisense now works with leading players in the smart farming world to make tractor data more easy to analyse and diagnose.

Intelligent sensors, interfaces and technology that are unrivalled for their quality, features and reliability. Actisense aim to be the installer’s product of choice by making navigation safer and more efficient with the most reliable boat and tractor electronic systems.

As award-winning NMEA specialists, our in-house Design, Research and Development Team have developed a wide range of intelligent, reliable and durable products that can be trusted, wherever in the world you may be.
