Sam Whaley’s Pathway to Paris presentation
At the end of last month, we had the pleasure of hosting Olympian hopeful Sam Whaley at our office. Sam came to share his inspirational story with our team and how he is training relentlessly for the Paris Olympics in 2024, hoping to be one of just 4 hopeful sailors to make it through to represent Team GB at the games (held in Marseille for sailing).
Sharing his journey with us, we learned about the kinds of sailing conditions Sam has faced in different parts of the globe. Despite some choppy sailing conditions over the years, Sam has clearly not let this hold him back, going from 40th place in the world rankings in 2021 to 3rd in 2023, which is an incredible achievement.
We have proudly sponsored Sam’s journey since 2018, being his first sponsor. The picture above was taken when Phil and Michele, Actisense directors, first met Sam back in 2017 at ParkRun in Poole, where Michele is the run director. Since then, it’s been incredible to see how Sam has progressed in his profession. We have no doubts that he will go on to do great things in his sailing career and we wish him all the best in his training for the Olympics.
