Maritime UK has announced the 43 finalists for the fourth annual Maritime UK Awards. The winners across 14 categories will be announced at the awards evening at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull on Thursday 9th March 2023.

Actisense, the marine electronics specialists based in Poole, Dorset, have been named as one of the three finalists in the International Trade category. CEO Phil Whitehurst said:

It is incredible to be recognised for the export of our marine electronics range. In the last year, we are proud to have been able to expand our export to new territories, such as Mexico, Guam and Taiwan. To support our growth, we recently overhauled our warehouse with new racking to give us more space and improve our production process. Thank you to Maritime UK for recognising us for this award again.

First held in September 2019, the Maritime UK Awards are run by the industry, for the benefit of the industry. The awards are given to both individuals and businesses, focusing on a wide range of areas including diversity, innovation, sustainability, and business growth. Maritime UK are the collective voice for the UK’s maritime industries. They champion and work to enable a thriving maritime sector.

Organisers for the event have commented:

This year, Maritime UK’s Patron HRH The Princess Royal will join 600 industry colleagues and partners in government for an evening to celebrate the wonderful world of maritime and the fantastic progress being made by organisations across the sector in support of Maritime 2050.

This year, Maritime UK’s award ceremony will be held in Hull, with over 800 years of seafaring history, which makes it a great host with a great maritime story to tell. Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hull, the Maritime UK Awards are a unique and powerful way to celebrate and showcase businesses across a thriving sector.
